The personality, events, and virtues of Imam Reza (peace be upon him) have consistently been the subject of numerous poems. Among these, two poems by Muhammad ibn Habib al-Dabbi and Hakim Sanai Ghaznavi have been selected for this research. Employing a descriptive-analytical method within the framework of Fotouhi's layered stylistics theory, the two works are compared at the lexical, syntactic, rhetorical, and ideological layers to uncover the depth of their hidden and ideological layers. The results indicate that both poets, at the initial lexical, syntactic, and rhetorical layers, demonstrate a shared alignment with other Muslims and the unadorned life of the Imam by utilizing relatively simple, common structures—the similarities between the two poems. Both poets strived to convey that their primary focus is on the Imam’s personality and the challenges of his time, using common structures such as: Maintaining a formal register to preserve the dignity of the praised figure (the maddūh), Dominance of common vocabulary, Prevalence of subjective and abstract words, Greater use of the present and indicative verbs and nominal sentences, Application of simpler similes and metaphors, Repetition of religious lexicon This central focus is presented in the Arabic poem with longer sentences to ensure the details are recorded in history, while the Persian poem uses shorter sentences. This shorter sentence structure enhances the poem's musicality, thereby increasing the penetration of the poet's intended ideology into the soul of the Iranian audience.
