One of the great orators of the Persian language, who is still unknown to many
people of culture and literature, is a famous poet and mystic of the 8th century, Ibn
Nasuh Shirazi.
His Shiite tendency is evident from his poems on the praise of Amir al-Muminin
and A’ll Aba and their preference over others.
The current research, which was conducted with the aim of knowing the intellectual
characteristics of the remaining poems of Ibn Nasuh Shirazi, is trying to open the
chapter of familiarity with this Iraqi style speaker by presenting examples of the
poet’s poetry and its prominent features.
The findings of the research which is based on the manuscripts of Ibn Nasuh’s
poems, show that after the praise of Jalarians, the praises of religious leaders,
morals, artistic and romantic descriptions, rationalism, Sufism and social issues
have the highest frequency in his poems.
In this way, after Hafez, Ibn Nasuh can be considered among the prominent figures
of Iraqi style poets in the 8th century, along with great speakers such as Salman
Sawaji, Khajui Kermani, Kamal Khojandi, and others.
