Mirza Ahmad Malal Dezaki, poet of the 12th and 13th century Hijri, is an unknown yet capable orator of ritualistic literature specifically in the context of Ashura. His collection of poetry includes tragic yet beautiful verses of elegy in honor of his devotion and love for Aba’abdellah Alhossein (AS). Perhaps, the most significant feature of his poetry is uncovered when reading his poetry and his elegies regarding Ashura. Malal’s elegies comprise almost 70 percent of his collection of poetry. One of the features of his elegies is the mystical outlook and drawing from mystical concepts to decipher the notions of Ashura, the incidents of the 10th day, and the bloody movement of Imam Hossein (AS). Malal introduces a novel viewpoint to his audience in verses of one of his poems; which is what signifies his prominence in providing mystical viewpoints and his fondness for Ashura while also demonstrating his interest in this viewpoint even prior to figures such as Safa Alishah Esfahani and Mirza Nourallah Aman Samani.
