Mangabatkahani is one of the religious customs among Afghanistan’s Shias which has been held in religious feasts, some specific days of a week, and Nowruz, aiming at maintaining the religious and devout rituals, and developing the norms of Ahl Beyt (peace be upon them), for many years. The roots of this ritual in Afghanistan went back to hundreds of years ago when Teymorian governed Herat. Nonetheless, the current form has been influenced by Safavieh and Afsharid when some Ghezelbash’s groups alongside a sparse number of governmental elites entered into and settled down in Kabul, Ghandehar, and other central regions of Afghanistan, in accordance with the policy of these two dynasties. In addition, in this day and age, Ghezelbashs are the prominent protagonists for holding this Shia’s custom in different areas of Afghanistan, for instance, Kabul. Other Shia groups, like Hazareh, influenced by Ghezelbashs, put an emphasis on holding this tradition. The research, applying the descriptive-analytical method, studies how the ceremony of Mangabatkahani is held. The library data, and the interview are used to gather information. The introduction of Mangabatkahani’s ceremonies in Kabulians’ Shias is the object of the work. Besides the study of Mangabatkahani in Persian poetry, the history of Mangabatkahani in Afghanistan, as well as the procedure to hold it have been surveyed. The results reveal that Mangabatkahani either boosts the Shia’s norms or plays a critical role in fostering the factory-fabricated Aroozi’s and historic rhythms. Moreover, despite the politics of governments against the Persian language in contemporary Afghanistan, Farsi literature is thriving and sustained by Mangabatkahani.
